1930
On May 22 1930 “Società Anonima Carrozzeria Pinin Farina” was founded by Battista Farina, also known as “Pinin”, and his brother Giovanni. At that time, the business is a small coach-builder workshop, building bespoke coaches for wealthy car owners.
1932
A few years later, the company has become a trend setting reality, able to deliver whole-car projects, with industry-redefining engineering quality. Pininfarina is the first company within the automotive sector to implement a scientific approach to aerodynamics.
1952
After WWII, Pininfarina produces the first world-famous car of its story: the Cisitalia 202. It is the first car to ever enter a museum collection, at the New York MoMa. From that moment on, the Pininfarina name will resonate all around the globe.
1960-1970
From 1960 to 1970 many of the most iconic Pininfarina models are born: Alfa Romeo Spider “Duetto”, Lancia Flaminia, Fiat “124 Sport Spider” and “Dino Spider”.
1970 - now
Always under the guidance of a Pininfarina family member, the company has designed hundreds of astonishing cars. Among those there are 65 Ferraris . But the original dream of Battista, to have a 100% Pininfarina car, remained unrealised until 2018.
